News and events

• Workshop on Data an AI in health in Lyon, France. 10^th November 2023
• DigiHealth-Asia plenary meeting in Lyon, France. 6^th November 2023
• The first plenary meeting will be in held between 22^nd Aug and 26^th Aug, 2022 in Ghent, Belgium.  
• Our paper titled ‘Multiclass Heartbeat Classification using ECG Signals and Convolutional Neural Networks’ has been published in the proceedings of 2022 2nd International Conference on Digital Futures and Transformative Technologies (ICoDT2).  
• NUST Innovation & Commercialization (I&C) Dte has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Islamabad Diagnostic Center (IDC).
  • The agreement provides a basis for initiating joint commercial projects as a means of generating revenue while strengthening NUST-industry linkages. A delegation of IDC, headed by the CEO, Dr. Rizwan Uppal visited NUST on April 19, 2022, and met Mr. Muhammad Anwar Fareid (Director, I&C NUST). Principal School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (SEECS), Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan, also graced this event with his presence and stressed the importance of industry-academia relationships in developing indigenous state-of-the-art solutions specifically for public wellbeing. The aim of this meeting was to explore avenues of utilizing diagnostic data from IDC for developing AI-based predictive models for different diseases. The effort of this entire collaboration was majorly performed by Dr. Rafia Mumtaz from SEECS, who is working as the  Principal Investigator from the NUST side on a project, Capacity building for developing Digital Health Care System, funded by Erasmus+. This MoA will also support the NUST team to achieve the milestones of this project. 
• Our paper titled ‘Bluetooth-Low-Energy-Based Fall Detection and Warning System for Elderly People in Nursing Homes’ is published in Journals of Sensors, 2022. 
• Our paper titled ‘Embedded AI-Based Digi-Healthcare’ is published in Applied Sciences, 2022.  
• All partners provided their first term financial reporting (15^th Jan 2021 – end Feb 2022) 
• Deliverable D5.1: Annual Progress reports (Lead: UGent) is available on the website and submitted to the project officer on 15^th Mar 2022. 
• Deliverable D5.2: Annual Financial report (Lead: UGent) is available on the website and submitted to the project officer on 15^th Mar 2022.   
• Deliverable D1.3: Learning material aimed at the skill requirements and training needs of ICT and health care practitioners (Lead: ULL) is available on the website and submitted to the project officer on 4^th Feb 2022.
• Deliverable D2.1: System integration of digital health care and the remote patient monitoring system (Lead: UNN) is available on the website and submitted to the project officer on 4^th Feb 2022 
• Deliverable D1.4: A report describing the technical system requirement for digital health care monitoring prototype (Lead: UoH) is available on
  the website and submitted to the project officer on 15^th Sep 2021.  
• Deliverable D1.2: Analysis of the skill requirement and priorities in Asian partners for the implementation of digital health care and monitoring system (Lead: UNN) is available on the website and submitted to project officer on 20^th Jul 2021.

• UGent and NUST participated in the Online Grantholder’s Meeting 25-29 January 2021 (https://cbhegrantholders2021.eu/).  Both also joined a bilateral meeting with the Project Officer and got an opportunity to discuss many things related to project execution.  
• DigiHealth-Asia hosted its official kick-off meeting online for three days 8 – 10^th Feb 2021. 
• Deliverable D1.1: Literature review on digital health care and monitoring technologies and its status/vision in EU and Asia led by UGent is available on the website and submitted to the project officer on 15^th May 2021.
• Deliverable D1.2: Analysis of the skill requirement and priorities in Asian partners for the implementation of digital health care and monitoring system led by UNN is available on the website and submitted to project officer on 19^th Jul 2021.
